This semester I went to the writing center to work on my revision of Lord of the Flies and I met with a sophomore. We worked on my revision, and my writing fellow pointed out some things I needed to improve. One thing we talked about was quotes. We looked at each quote and she helped me reword and add details. She also told me to assume that audience hasn’t read the book. That helped me realize that I needed to add context to educate and help the audience understand the book. After she gave me the tips on details, she read a little of my paper and we worked on grammar. She told me to just run it through Grammarly to make sure I didn’t have any minor mistakes that could be fixed. In addition to that, she helped me change some sentences that were hard to understand. In all, it was helpful to see another person’s opinion on what I should focus on and make changes to.
