What I Have Learned Through the Year:
The past year I have learned to take notes in class. I used to not take notes and only pay attention or look in a book, but I have learned it helps write or type it down. For example, in math, Mrs. Rome gives us a packet with notes that you fill in. When I am not in class or forget something, I can look in the packet. Also, it helps to write things down in a way that you will understand and help you remember.
Another thing I have learned is to do your homework. I know that is common knowledge, but it really helps. Doing homework may take a long time, but it helps you when a test is coming up. If a test is the next day, then you can go back and study your homework, redo it, or make notes on it. Finally, the homework gives you easy points that benefit your grade. At the end of the quarter or semester it could give you the small points you need if you are borderline.
After hearing this article's views, I think that Trump should not build the wall, but improve the fences. The wall would be asking for billions of dollars and would take a long time to build. I read another article a the wall and it said that the fences are mostly working now. I know that that is not true for all places, but it the government improves on the places that need work, it could save a lot of money and time.

I consider this blog post a “hit” because it shows that I had a deep understanding of the article, used good vocabulary, uses good transitions, and was well organized.
Should We Abandon Louisiana? In Some Ways, We Already Have Review:
This article is about how Louisiana's tragedies don't get enough attention. It says how other parts of the country don't pay attention to flooding here because they expect us to flood. Yes we are on the coast, but that doesn't mean that we are okay with flooding. We aren't just used to flooding. It also said that when Katrina and the flood happened the rest of the country didn't want to rebuild. They just wanted to bulldoze. They thought that because the city was corrupt.

This post is a "hit" because it uses detail and explains my thoughts well. This post also shows that my thoughts were well put together
Political Article:
The article I chose was about Trump's wall. It was written by Tal Kopan. He writes that Trump asks government for one billion dollars for only sixty two miles. The article advances with where the wall will be put up and that some of the money will be used to repair fences that are already there. Kopan describes that Trumps sees a large concrete wall around the border. Kopan then goes on to say other's opinions like Homeland Security Secretary, John Kelly. He says that he would like it to stay a fences because it is easier for the security to come in and out. He also thinks that the wall would be a waste of time. After hearing this article's views, I think that Trump should not build the wall, but improve the fences. I agree with this article. All other natural disasters are on the news all the time, but the flood wasn't. So many people lost their houses and everything they had. When the article said that people that were in flood zones during Hurricane Sandy and got flooded they got a lot of attention, it brought up a very good point. People expect us to flood, but houses that weren't in the flood zone were flooded too. One thing I did disagree with was how they said Katrina didn't get attention. Yes the other parts of the country may have wanted to bulldoze, which is terrible, but it did make it to the new. We did get help and I think people did realize how bad the damage was. I do think we could have gotten more help though.
This was a good post for me because I liked what I was
writing about. I may have not used great vocabulary, but my ideas were well
expressed and organized.
Misses:
anticipating the next book:
This piece of writing
is one of my “misses” because the ideas lack depth and I was repetitive. I also
went off into something else that didn’t relate to what I was trying to say.
Lord Of The Flies Review:
This post was not my
best work because the sentence variety was limited. Also, it was more of a
summary instead of showing the interpretation.
How To Clean Your Room:
I didn’t like this
post because I used second person a lot and had capitalization errors.
